Hagens Berman filed a class-action lawsuit on behalf of residents within a five-mile radius of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac). The complaint alleges that more than 300,000 people in the area—including at least 60,000 children—have likely been exposed to unhealthy levels of toxic substances, such as lead and carbon monoxide, from airport operations. Plaintiffs call the area the “Contamination Zone,” asserting rates of cancer, heart disease, and chronic lower respiratory disease are significantly higher there.
