About this case

An FTC suit alleging Amazon used misleading methods to enroll consumers in Prime and made cancellations difficult was settled; Amazon contested the claims and did not admit liability. Automatic Payment qualification: U.S. consumers who signed up for Prime between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025 via a Challenged Enrollment Flow and who used no more than three Prime benefits in any 12‑month period. Claims open Jan 5, 2026; eligible consumers will be notified by mail or email by Jan 28, 2026. Claims Process Payment qualification: U.S. consumers who unintentionally enrolled through a challenged method or tried but failed to cancel online between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025, used fewer than ten Prime benefits in any 12‑month enrollment period, and have not already received an automatic payment.
