Reliant is accused of marketing what appeared to be a standard general‑use credit card but actually selling a largely useless membership program that included an extremely limited credit card and substantial mandatory fees—hundreds of dollars annually—despite credit limits as low as $500. Consumers rarely used the card or membership add‑ons and most promptly left the program without making purchases while Reliant continued collecting fees.
