About this case
On July 1, 2022, Lieff Cabraser and co‑counsel filed a federal suit in Georgia against Mercedes‑Benz USA LLC and Daimler AG alleging breach of warranty, state and federal consumer‑fraud, fraudulent concealment, and unjust enrichment for sudden total battery failures in Mercedes vehicles manufactured 2004–2022, including S, C, A, CLA, CLS, G, GLA, GLK, GLC, ML/GLE, GL, GLS, and E models. Plaintiffs allege unexplained battery drains that strand drivers and force repeated out‑of‑pocket diagnostics, software updates, and battery replacements; complaints date from 2004 through 2020 model years. They seek declaratory and injunctive relief, reassessment of warranty claims, payment of inspection/repair/replacement costs, disgorgement or restitution, and related relief. Separately, plaintiffs allege a 48V/12V hybrid‑system defect in 2019–2021 GT, GLS, GLC, C, CLS, E, and GLE hybrids that can cause shutdowns, overheating, limp‑home mode, or loss of highway acceleration.
