Hagens Berman, together with co-counsel Bliven Law Firm and Heenan & Cook, filed a class-action suit on behalf of residents of Morrow and Umatilla Counties, Oregon. The complaint alleges the Port of Morrow, commercial farms, and confined animal feeding operations have contaminated groundwater in the Lower Umatilla Basin by discharging nitrogen across Morrow and Umatilla Counties. Attorneys say the contamination may affect over 46,000 residents, including many children; excess nitrogen converts to soil nitrates that can cause serious health problems.
